Ruth has a range of both domestic and international experience in construction and engineering disputes. This has been gained through involvement in TCC proceedings, adjudication and international arbitration, with an emphasis on high value and complex matters.
Specialist expertise
Examples of Ruth’s expertise include:
- acting for a joint venture containing a US engineering, procurement, construction and project management company in relation to a dispute concerning several hundreds of millions of US dollars in ICC arbitration proceedings regarding a major infrastructure project in the Middle East;
- acting for a building services specialist in relation to a £10 million dispute concerning alleged defects and delay issues at an entertainment complex;
- acting for a Kuwaiti project developer in LCIA arbitration proceedings concerning a range of disputes arising out of an oil and gas processing project in the Middle East;
- assisting in adjudication proceedings concerning a payment dispute in relation to infrastructure works in the UK;
- acting for a variety of clients in relation to debt recovery.
Academics
Ruth obtained a 1st class degree in History from the University of Leeds before gaining a distinction grade in both the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at BPP University in London.
