Fenwick Elliott recognised as Legal Firm of the Year at the FIDIC Contract Users’ Conference
Fenwick Elliott is thrilled to have been announced as Legal Firm of the Year at the FIDIC Contract Users’ Conference.
The awards recognise excellence in the use of FIDIC contract forms for project delivery and showcase examples of good practice through collaboration from across the world.
The judges praised our role in “going above and beyond the norm” in providing education and training on legal issues related to the FIDIC suite of contracts, as well as our ability to “work proactively with clients to avoid disputes.”
Simon Tolson, Senior Partner, comments: “This is a superb achievement for the firm, and we would like to thank FIDIC for recognising us with this award. We view FIDIC as a critical component in the successful delivery of major programmes of work across the globe. We are proud to have worked with our clients on the application of the FIDIC suite of contracts worldwide, and to have been asked to support FIDIC in its initiatives.”
Fenwick Elliott has had extensive recent involvement in projects governed by FIDIC Contracts including hydropower in Africa, infrastructure in Eastern Europe & Asia, renewables in the Middle East & Latin America as well as projects impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
We are also pleased to be supporting FIDIC through a variety of initiatives, including:
- Professor Nicholas Gould and Jeremy Glover acting as special advisors to the FIDIC Contracts Committee;
- the appointment of Dr Stacy Sinclair as Chair of FIDIC’s Digital Transformation Committee; and
- delivering a one-week course on the use of FIDIC standard form contracts at King’s College London Centre for Construction Law, developed and led by Professor Nicholas Gould.
